The name “Three Kings Day” comes from the three kings/wisemen/magi that gave gifts to Mary on the day that Jesus was born. This event takes place on January 6, because the Christmas season starts on Christmas day (December 25) for them and it lasts for 12 days, ending on January 6 when this event is held. January 6 is the last day of the Christmas season, and many festivals occur. During the festivals there is lots of music, dancing, and caroling. Sometimes, there are also parades, puppet shows and traditional feasts. All of these things occur islandwide.
